At Mother's Care we believe in equipping future Birth Doulas with the highest quality, evidence-based course and classes that will prepare them in their career as Birth Doulas.

Our DONA-Approved Birth Doula Training Workshops will provide you with an up-to-date, evidence-based curriculum that will allow you to serve laboring clients in hospitals, birth centers and in the home environment.  

In collaboration with DONA International, our DONA Trainers will help you learn the skills you'll need to provide excellent service to every family you support in pregnancy, labor and the postpartum period.

Our Training Workshop will teach you the benefits of doula care, the history of birth, the significance of doula support to families, comfort techniques and strategies for labor and birth, how doulas can impact maternal mortality and breastfeeding rates, while also directing you towards the steps to begin your doula career and business.

How do I become a DONA-Certified Doula?

Attending a DONA-Approved Birth Doula Training Workshop, is your first step to becoming certified.  For a complete list of the certification steps, please contact us!

Who will certify me when I complete the certification process? 

As Certified DONA Trainers, Mother's Care (MC) is hosting and offering the classes you'll need but your certification will be under DONA International. When you complete all the requirements for certification you will be a DONA-Certified Birth Doula.

Which classes can I take with Mother’s Care?  

MC offers some of the classes you'll need in a format that can work with your schedule!  Choose which class you'd like to attend and how you would like to attend them:

  • 1-day or 2-Part, Introduction to Childbirth for Doulas Class
    • Intro can be taken with the DONA Birth Doula Training Workshop or separately
    • Completed over a 1-day, 8 hour class; or a 2-Part class
  • 2-Part DONA Birth Doula Training Workshop
    • Completed over 2 days
  • 4-Part DONA Birth Doula Training Workshop
    • Completed over 4 nights 
  • The 2-Part & 4-Part Classes contain the SAME content/curriculum
