Doula

Thank you so much for your interest in our company and our fine staff of Birth & Postpartum Doulas! By way of introduction, please allow Mother’s Care to share a bit about the Doula care provider you are considering to assist you and your new baby during your birth and/or postpartum period.

Mother’s Care is pleased to introduce Heidi Weisher-Pinzon, a compassionate and dedicated Birth Doula who is currently completing her training as a *full-spectrum doula. Heidi is enrolled in one of the most comprehensive mentorship-based doula training programs available. This intensive 13-month advanced training and dual certification program (Birth & Postpartum) is designed to go far beyond traditional doula courses.

Unlike standard short-format trainings, Heidi’s program is structured as an immersive experience that combines in-depth education, real-world application, and ongoing mentorship. As part of this process, she is actively supporting families while continuing to refine her skills and expand her knowledge. Her training includes time-tested hands-on techniques for labor comfort, relaxation, and progression, as well as evidence-based approaches that support the emotional, mental, and holistic aspects of the birthing experience. Postpartum maternal and newborn care are also key components of her training. She is expected to complete her certification in 2026.

While her certification is in progress, Heidi is already a knowledgeable and experienced doula who has supported families during pregnancy, labor, birth, and postpartum. She has had the opportunity to work with families with a variety of birth preferences and is well-equipped to guide and support you throughout your journey. Families often appreciate her calm presence, attentive listening, and sincere commitment to creating a space where mothers feel safe, respected, and empowered.

Heidi was born in Los Angeles, California, raised in Queens, New York, and now enjoys living in sunny South Florida. Her diverse background allows her to easily connect with families from many different cultures and walks of life. She is fluent in Spanish, which allows her to comfortably support Spanish-speaking families.

Her journey into birth work began during her own personal exploration of motherhood. As she learned more about the birth process and the transition into motherhood, she discovered a deep passion for supporting women through this powerful and transformative time. What began as curiosity soon became a calling to help mothers feel informed, confident, and emotionally supported as they bring their babies into the world.

Heidi believes that birth is not only a physical process but also a deeply emotional, mental, and spiritual experience. Her philosophy centers on creating a calm and trusting environment where mothers feel respected and supported as they navigate labor and birth. She understands that sometimes the most meaningful support a doula can offer is a grounded, reassuring presence that helps families feel safe and cared for.

During labor, Heidi utilizes a variety of comfort measures and supportive techniques such as labor positioning, massage, acupressure, aromatherapy, and relaxation techniques. She may also incorporate tools such as birth balls, massage balls, and other comfort aids to help mothers find relief and support throughout labor. Heidi believes that compassion, trust, and kindness are some of the most powerful tools a doula can offer.

In addition to her doula training, Heidi has completed breastfeeding education and continues to expand her knowledge in areas such as prenatal and perinatal psychology, allowing her to support families both physically and emotionally.

Clients often describe Heidi as nurturing, supportive, and empowering. She takes pride in building strong, trusting relationships with the families she serves and is committed to honoring each family’s unique preferences and experience.

Outside of her work supporting families, Heidi enjoys spending time with her husband exploring the outdoors and visiting national parks. She loves hiking, practicing Chi Gong, and wildlife photography, especially capturing meaningful moments of families and babies. Heidi also enjoys baking and experimenting with new recipes and is known for her delicious banana bread and chocolate cake. At home, she enjoys spending time with her beloved Maine Coon cat, Leo, a cream ticked tabby who keeps life playful and full of cuddles. Heidi is comfortable around family pets and appreciates the special role animals often play in the home.

OUR APPROACH TO TRAINING, CERTIFICATION & DOULA EXCELLENCE

Mother’s Care proudly works with both Certified Doulas and Doulas who are actively completing advanced certification programs. Many of our doulas receive training through some of the most respected, evidence-based organizations in the field, including DONA International, International Childbirth Education Association (ICEA), Childbirth And Postpartum Professional Association (CAPPA), Childbirth International, the National Black Doulas Association, the Healthy Start Doula Program, the Southern Birth Justice Doula Program (SBJP) and Doula Thrive. Mother’s Care also serves as an International Doula Training Center for DONA International and offers its own comprehensive Postpartum Doula Training and Certification Program, along with continuing education opportunities for certified doulas. Doulas who are completing certification requirements do so under the guidance of experienced, certified Mother’s Care Birth Doula Mentors. These mentors work closely with each doula throughout the client’s care, ensuring families receive thoughtful, well-supported, and evidence-based support every step of the way.

Families working with a Doula who is completing certification receive services consistent with our traditional Birth Doula support, including prenatal preparation, continuous labor support in the birth setting, and postpartum follow-up. As part of the certification process, clients may be invited to complete a brief evaluation following their experience.

Mother’s Care is committed to ensuring that every family receives compassionate, professional, and well-supported care from doulas who are highly trained, actively mentored, and deeply dedicated to their work.
